Introduction
Hello! I'm Jodie. Although I have specialized in working with children and adolescents, I also work with adults who have experienced trauma or struggle with other stressors. Silver Lining uses a trauma-informed approach in our work.
Past roles include senior leadership positions for nonprofits in the state of Massachusetts. This included working closely with DCF, DMH and DJJ in order to support children and families.
One single approach is not right for every individual, so I take an integrative approach to therapy. I am trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT(TFCBT), Forensic Social Work, and Solution Focused Brief Therapy.
Jodie is also currently completing a PhD Program in Forensic Psychology to support a Masters in Criminal Justice and Social Work (MSW). All PhD coursework has been completed. Research for dissertation is focused on the topic of the causes of the increase in school violence, specifically school shootings. Understanding risks and protective factors is part of this work.
